With all the rumors floating around earlier this summer is is kind of disappointing. I love new gadgets. However I guess it does give us something to look forward to in spring 2012.

A source states that apple only plans on launching one model of the iphone 5 and just recently gave the go ahead for the ipad3. Some have been sceptical if we would indeed see a new ipad model this year since its only been months since the ipad 2 was released. It was unclear weather apple would stick to its yearly release schedule of the ipads. However with 2011 really seeing allot of action in terms of tablet releases it makes sense for apple to refresh its product to stay competitive in a very competitive market. It is said that the new ipad3 will be thinner that ipad2 and have a much higher screen resolution. Rumors still have it set as a September or October for a release.

UPDATE: Well we all no now that no iPhone 5 or iPad 3 this fall. However it makes me wonder if this leaked rumor was meant to start production of parts only

So it has been reported by several people that this is going to happen for the ipad 3. One being foxconn the company that manufactures the ipad and many of apples devices. Foxconn workers are notorious for leaking apple products.  Earlier in the year several foxconn employees were arrested for leaking information on the unreleased ipad2. Other reports come from a Hollywood insider that claims movie studios are scrambling to prepare content in time for the ipad3 release. He stats what the are coming up with is pure magic. So very interesting indeed. I’ll post more info on the possibility of a 3d display as information comes out. You can bet that this is a hight priority on apple list. Recently after a analyst has dissected code for the upcoming release of the revamped operating system currently used in the iPhone and iPad that is to be released this fall called iOS 5. Some reference to two iPad models where found ipad3,1 and ipad3,2 This is very interesting to say the least. Now this does not mean there will be 2 models at release time, it could be there for 2 prototypes or internal products that they are testing or even for 3g purposes like Verizon vs AT&T. This has been the case in the past. It was also noted there was reference to two iPhone 5 models as well. Apple was thought to be releasing a more economical version of the ipad to remain price competitive in a very competitive market. So that could also explain why two iPad models, perhaps and economy version and a pro version with more power and more features. A few days ago it was pointed out in code of the new IOS5 that the iPad3 will have a screen resolution of 2560 X 1920 which is currently 5 times greater than the resolution of the current iPad 2 screen. This would mean that the ipad 3 would have a retina display which many hopeful hoped would be included in the ipad 2.

Now would this not be a real treat? Better get some money save! This is not fact by any means but think about it. Both iphone 5 and ipad 3 are reported to have a late fall release. iOS 5 is to be released this fall and people have found evidence of the ipad3 in teh codebase of  iOS5. iCloud is also coming this fall. Does apple plan on taking the mobile device market by storm, and releasing the new iphone and ipad on the very same day. This would definitely be very cool and would rock the mobile world.

Reports have been coming out the last 2 days the the new screen in the ipad 3 is going to have a resolution of  2048×1536 basically double the resolution in the current ipad2. Wow this is very exciting indeed. An ipad with a retina display that can support true 1080 HD. It is believed because of the way thiswas discovered by examining the code-base of the yet to be released iOS5 that the release of the ipad3 could coincide with the release of iOS 5. However even before the launch of the ipad 2 there were already rumors floating around about production and release of an iPad 3 later in the year. This is quite strange. Some analysts suspect this to be the case due to the fact there were some technologies that they wanted to include but logistically it was not ready at the time when ipad 2 came out so they opted to release ipad 2 then follow up with an ipad 3 in late fall. But really with Apple who knows. They are notorious for being tight lipped and secretive about upcoming projects and hardware. One of the main feature speculated to appear in the ipad3 in the introduction of the retina display currently found in the iphone 4. This would be sweet, I love my iPad 2, but retina display in the ipad would be a very welcome addition.

Another rumor has the ipad 3 to receive new cameras, now this is a must, for the life of me I don’t understand the logic behind apple releasing a product with such poor cameras. Info about the ipad 3 has been pretty dry and I image the pace at which new information trickles out should speed up over the next few weeks / months. As I learn new information about the specs and release of the ipad 3 I will post it here on my blog.
